I noticed this initiative undertaken by the Belgian creative industry as a whole and I find it fascinating. Well I must have, in order to break out from my blogging malaise - Have a look below and the previous article dates from christmas 2008, probably down to too much pitching! Anyway, Belgian agencies have decided en mass to stage a one week virtual strike against multiple agency pitches… 21 agencies have taken their websites down for a week and replaced them with a protest message that you read by clicking through each of their sites.

We have decided to beat the Christmas rush this year and offer you all a present well before the end of December. These are pressing times for all of us, gone are the days of gratutious spending. So, we’ve decided to make it a whole lot easier for you to save a little of your hard earned cash this Yuletide. It’s great to hear when our old Firedog staff go on to do fantastic things.
Gareth Knight was Firedog’s Digital Manager a couple of years back and left us to go it alone with a start-up technology consultancy in 2005 he started called Technovated. A really nice piece of web kit has just caught my usually very cynical attention. It’s called PicLens and is a very simple to install extension for browser of choice, Firefox.
